Congress of Business

The Congress of Business (COB) is Glasgow’s annual gathering of business leaders, investors, innovators and policymakers committed to accelerating the climate transition. It is convened and curated by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. Held during Glasgow Climate Week, COB builds on the city’s global leadership role since COP26, and focuses on one central question: how can business drive practical, investable solutions for a net-zero economy?

COB sees decarbonisation and resilience as business opportunity and imperative. COB is not just a conference;  it is a catalyst. It brings together companies large and small, and knowledge institutions, to explore opportunities in clean energy, sustainable real estate, low-carbon supply chains, climate technology and green finance. The emphasis is on action: scaling innovation, unlocking investment, building skills, and positioning Glasgow as a leading hub for sustainable enterprise.

As moderator of COB, I guide a programme of high-level dialogue and practical exchange; connecting global insight with local opportunity. The Congress creates space for honest conversation between business, government and civic leaders, ensuring that ambition is matched by delivery.

Glasgow demonstrated through COP26 that cities can convene the world. Through COB, we demonstrate how cities can mobilise business to lead the transition.
